It’s been about three weeks since I’ve ditched my Crackberrys and finally upgraded to an iPhone 4S, unlike most would like to admit – I find myself at times envying certain aspects of a Blackberry that the iPhone just doesn’t have.
The feature I miss most about my Blackberrys would have to be the physical keyboard. Sure the iPhone has a really responsive touch screen but I can’t seem to type as accurately or as quickly as I did with a Blackberry. Being able to type fast on my mobile device is important to me – I use my phone throughout the day to read my rss feeds and take notes on the posts that catch my eye.
Which brings up the lack of a native rss feeder for the iPhone – I know it seems unnecessary but I’ve found myself searching through useless iOS rss reader filled with advertisements and have grown tired. For those of you looking for a feed reader I’d recommend FeeddlerRSS Lite or Pro if you’re not a fan of in app advertisements.
All I said above was a tad off topic; this post is meant to voice my frustration over the lack of free word processing on Apple’s App Store. I’ve entered my third week of searching and have yet to find even a low-budget error ridden free alternative to Apple’s Pages or Documents 2 Go.
Which pisses me off – my crappy Blackberrys managed to please me with word processing why not my iPhone?
I’d like to avoid the trolls so I must mention that there is in fact one free word processing alternative (besides the useless applications that make you pay in-app to save) out on the market “gOffice”. Though in my defence and to avoid being called a hypocrite gOffice is a web-based service for mobile devices and I wouldn’t really describe it as an application.
Hopefully there’s a developer out there that will read this and make me a free word processing app – hell it wouldn’t be for me there’s a lot out there that would kill for a free word processing application. Maybe toss some advertisements, in-app purchases (Excluding paying for each save crap).
